Blogger’s Diary; Life Of A Student Blogging

February 28, 2018Onome

So school is literally consuming my time, also the poor network coverage at my apartment is sickening and taking me even farther from blogging.

If you follow me, most of my diaries are filled with me anticipating graduating from the University and probably hopping onto a new phase in my life.

The next couple of months wouldn’t be full of me in here and it’s totally okay to wonder where I would be then; but if ever you get to read this, know that it was well planned out and there was a need to take a little break from blogging to fulfill my educational needs.

Blogging and School

I haven’t really been a good student blogging because I didn’t know how to manage my time or schedule myself properly as to when to create/publish a blog post and when to study. I intertwined them roughly and carelessly, but then the need to get rid of a disorganized life came in!

How To Start A Profitable Lifestyle blog

A Student Blogging

Now I am months away from becoming a graduate and I can not help but look back in time.
How much has blogging affected my school and how much have school life affected my blogging hobby?

I definitely wouldn’t claim to have been a badass blogger and student. I couldn’t even manage blogging along side my education. Obviously, I love blogging but then, I made series of mistakes I wouldn’t want you or anyone to make while venturing into blogging, even as a full time student.

Combining blogging with Education; My mistakes

I was never Really Organised: Until this year, I did not see organisation as a big deal. I’d be on my phone all morning, ditching the fact that I had classes to attend in a few minutes or hours.

Sometimes, I would hold onto my phone then place a book just in front. Like who was I deceiving?

I have been much of a bad student blogging and I blame it on my total inability to properly schedule my activities. I guess I was not wise enough to set aside a time for school and a time to attend to my blog.

May a times, it was all about blogging and I’d often procrastinate, postpone and wish I never procrastinated in the long run.

Lessons For You

If you are a student interested in blogging part-time, then I bet you need to learn how to manage your time, do things when they need to be done and plan your activities properly.

You’d definitely need to learn how to overcome procrastination. And as a student, to survive blogging, you should be ready to multitask.

And how you mix this education thing and the blogging thing is how I don’t understand. You’re some woman. How do you separate your thoughts and worry? I know you think you didn’t manage your time or schedule well, and you could have been a better student. There’ll always be that time people not full time bloggers will analyze and feel they’re doing badly at the other side.
But you’ve dished out good posts all these while and you’ve done good with the blog in general and you haven’t dropped out of school from frustration! Hunny, have a glass of wine 🍷 you’re doing amazing sweetie.

It seems like it’s “taking a hiatus” that’s trending in our blogosphere this year. Many bloggers I know have taken (and are still taking) a break for a reason or the other, myself included. I haven’t visited my facebook account and my blog since the 8th of January, but my break ends on the 20th of March anyway.

I used to be obsessed with my phone, and even though I knew the stuff I did with my phone (blog, tweet, update posts) were quite justifiable, I knew I was overdoing it (and when you’re giving something more time than it deserves, you’re denying another thing the time it deserves — a lesson I’ve learnt now).
Take your time and dedicate it to what deserves it right now — your studies. Good luck to you! Your other readers and I will keep waiting for you.

Please don’t go for long. This blog fuels my passion for blogging. I’ll be starting my blog after my exams this year. Its not procrastination. I just wanna give it the attention a start blog would require. So that by next semester I can just once in a while put in a post and promote it when I’m a bit less busy.
I wanna start a lifestyle blog like this one.
