“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”
The fear of failure (Atychiphobia) is perhaps the strongest force holding people below their potentials. In a world full of uncertainty, a delicate economy, and countless misfortunes that could happen to anyone; it’s easy to see why most people are inclined to play it safe. It is therefore important that we develop the confidence and skills needed to overcome fear and be a leader in today’s world. You need to stop concluding negatively.
Have you ever been so afraid of failing at something that you decided not to try it at all?
You have the fear of failure that subconsciously you undermined your own efforts to avoid the possibility of failing more?
Do You only try to do things that you know you’ll finish perfectly and successfully?
Many of us have probably experienced this at one time or another. The fear of failing can be immobilizing; it can cause us to do little or nothing, and therefore resist moving forward. When we allow fear to stop our forward progress in life; we’re likely to miss some great opportunities along the way.
OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF FAILURE
1) failure is a reality
No matter how much you learn and move forward from failing in life, failure still gets in – even to the best of us, but you know, accepting failure as a reality makes it less cumbersome. It won’t be this mighty frightening thing that you once thought it was. You’d be surprised at how much you want to move forward, try new things, and experience success that you might not have otherwise, thought of.
2). Past Failures
Think about the last failure you had in life. Did your world come to an end? Chances are you’ve moved on, gotten past it, and have become stronger and wiser because of it. So the next time you find yourself not taking a certain chance or being crippled by the fear of failure, remember that you’ve overcome failure before and you will again.
3). Conversing with Others
Listening to the stories of people who have achieved great things, or at least have gone through similar situations, can be of great help when it comes to getting encouraged. When it comes to point of taking risks, despite it’s threat. Some of the biggest innovators and most successful people will admit to having gone through multiple failures before arriving to where they are now.
4). Learn, Understand, and learn some more.
You can study and memorize facts all day long, but it’s nothing compared to the learning that comes from personal experience. Like I said before, failure is just a part of life – the key is how you deal with it. Not only is overcoming failure a huge step in building character, but reflecting on how and why failing took place is what will set you up for successfully moving forward.
“Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat.”
“Remember that failure is not the opposite of success, it is a part of success.”
also, don’t forget that failing to one person might simply be a great learning experience for someone else….
I hope this helps us all.
